What information may be handled?
Messages you send
When you use the contact form, the site handles the name, email address, selected subject and message you provide. Please avoid sending private information about a young goalkeeper unless it is genuinely necessary.
Technical and usage information
The site and its providers may process technical information needed to deliver, protect and understand the website. This can include IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, referral information, approximate location derived from IP address and consent status. The contact form also uses Google reCAPTCHA to help distinguish people from automated abuse, which may process device, browser and interaction signals.
Consent and preference information
Complianz and the WordPress consent interface store information about your consent choices. The parent pathway may also store a selected route in first-party browser storage only when the relevant preference permission has been granted.
GoalkeeperGuide does not currently offer public account registration or newsletter signup. The policy and consent controls must be updated before either feature is activated.
03 · Purpose
Why is information used?
| Purpose | Typical legal basis |
|---|---|
| Reply to questions, corrections and professional enquiries | Legitimate interests in operating and improving the site; steps requested before a possible agreement where relevant. |
| Deliver, secure and diagnose the website | Legitimate interests and, where applicable, legal obligations. Essential storage does not depend on optional consent. |
| Remember optional pathway preferences | Consent through the Preferences category. The route remains usable without saving if permission is not granted. |
| Measure site use with analytics | Consent where required. Statistics storage should remain disabled until the relevant choice is made. |
| Serve and measure advertising | Consent where required, together with the advertising and consent settings applied by Google and the site. |
Information may also be processed where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or to comply with a legal obligation.
04 · Cookies
Cookies, browser storage and consent.
Complianz provides the site’s Functional, Preferences, Statistics and Marketing category controls. Google AdSense also loads Google Privacy & Messaging for advertising choices and identifies that interface as Google’s CMP. These interfaces currently cover different layers of choice: Complianz presents site categories, while Google presents advertising purposes and vendors. Functional storage supports essential site and consent operation; optional storage should follow the choice you make through the relevant interface.
Google Analytics and Google AdSense code is present on the site through Site Kit. Site Kit is configured to communicate consent states to Google for visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland; this is separate from the visible Complianz category controls and Google’s advertising-choice interface. Analytics may measure visits and interactions; AdSense may serve and measure advertising. Google explains that advertising tags can use first- and third-party cookies and other signals depending on consent and account settings. Google reCAPTCHA is present on the contact form as an anti-abuse service; its loading and storage behaviour follows the applicable consent and essential-security configuration.
- Use the consent controls shown on the site to review or change optional categories and advertising choices.
- You can also remove or block cookies using your browser settings, although essential features may then work differently.
- Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred lawfully before withdrawal.
More detail is available in Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s explanation of information from partner sites.
05 · Providers
Who may receive your information?
Information is shared only as needed for the relevant service. Current service categories include:
- Hosting and website operation: the hosting, WordPress and security infrastructure needed to deliver and protect the site.
- Contact handling and abuse prevention: WPForms, the email services used to deliver and answer a message, and Google reCAPTCHA on the contact form.
- Consent management: Complianz, the WordPress Consent API and Google Privacy & Messaging used to record or communicate site-category and advertising choices.
- Measurement and advertising: Google Analytics and Google AdSense, connected through Site Kit.
- Font delivery: some page styles request typefaces from Google Fonts and rsms.me. When these resources are requested, your browser connects to the external font host.
Some providers may process information outside the EU/EEA. Where GDPR transfer rules apply, the relevant provider terms, adequacy decision or approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses should be used. GoalkeeperGuide does not currently run public account registration, newsletter signup or active tracked affiliate links. Those services require a policy and consent review before launch.
06 · Retention
How long is information kept?
- Contact messages: only for as long as reasonably needed to answer the enquiry, manage any necessary follow-up and document the matter where there is a legitimate operational or legal need. Messages that are no longer needed should be deleted during periodic mailbox review.
- Consent choices: for as long as needed to apply and, where required, demonstrate the recorded choice.
- Google Analytics: the GoalkeeperGuide property is configured to retain event data for 2 months and user data for 14 months. The user-data period resets when new activity is recorded for that user. Google notes that these controls do not affect most aggregated standard reports.
- Server and security logs: according to the hosting and security settings, only for as long as reasonably needed for operation, troubleshooting and protection.
Backup copies may remain until they rotate out of the normal backup cycle. Information can be retained longer when required by law or needed for a legal claim.
07 · Your rights
Your privacy choices and rights.
Depending on the circumstances and the legal basis, GDPR rights can include the following:
Send a request to the privacy contact above. Identity may need to be verified before information is released. You may also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
08 · Young people
Protecting information about young goalkeepers.
GoalkeeperGuide is written for goalkeepers, parents and grassroots coaches, but the contact form and any future account or marketing consent are intended to be handled by an adult. Do not send a young person’s exact birth date, school, club, location, health information, photograph, video or other private detail through a general enquiry unless there is a clear and necessary reason.
If personal information about a young person is sent unnecessarily, contact GoalkeeperGuide to request review or deletion.
09 · Updates
Changes, questions and corrections.
This policy should be reviewed whenever the site activates a new account, newsletter, paid product, affiliate programme, analytics feature, advertising configuration or other processing purpose. Material changes will be reflected in the review date and, where appropriate, in the consent interface.
For a privacy request, question or correction, use the details in section 1 or the Contact page.
